How To Blanch Peas

This is the first year that I have grown sweet peas. I put them down on St. Patrick's day and last week I harvested them. Hubs and I snapped them and today blanched them. If you've never blanched peas let me tell you it is super easy!

First you boil some water

Turn the heat off and put your peas in for 1.5 minutes

Drain your peas. Transfer them into a cold bath, which is a bowl of cold water with ice in it, for 1.5 minutes

Drain your peas again

Put them in a bag and freeze them

That's it! Fresh frozen peas at your fingertips.

  1. Great little tutorial there. I'm so surprised your little one doesn't like peas. We gave our veggies names like trees (for broccoli) Chocolate milk was Bunny Milk of course.
Hopefully he'll eat a veggie by mistake and love it. LOL
