That looks like a lot of fun. I like this idea better than the one I've been using: my daughter, 2-3 bowls a few cups and a ton of beans. It just gets too messy (even with a sheet under her). But maybe if I did it the way you did it would be more contained.
I've so been meaning to do something like this with my boys...I've heard that cereal is great because you don't have to worry about the kids eating it but it still feels cool sensory-wise.
Thanks for the reminder and adorable proof that this is really something I need to do with my kids :)
He looks like he is very much into the sensory touching that he is not aware of the camera. I love the size of your bin. I need to fill one for Little Bug and Pooh Bear. Happy Veterans Day.
Hi, I'm stopping by from the FNF hop. I like the bean box, I made a rice box before. Hope you can visit me and follow back. Cheryl http://hearttoheartathome.blogspot.com/
Cute picture! I have been meaning to do this for my 2-yr old forever! She *loves* moving stuff (water, corn kernels, etc) from one place to another...especially with a shovel and in to cups or buckets!
Stopping by from Wild Weekend Hop with About A Mom to follow you on GFC & Facebook!

ReplyDeleteI started with a shoe box sized bin. It was a total mess. I think he just didn't have enough room to explore. This seemed to work much better.
ReplyDeleteThat big size does look about perfect!
ReplyDeletethats super cute :) does he go to pre-k yet?

When my daughter was young, we used to go to a place in Pittsburgh Pa, that had all kinds of sensory things. Lots of fun and learning for the kids.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I will have to do this for Carsyn.
ReplyDeleteLOve the idea of a bigger play bin!
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute, Amy!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! I can see how fun it would be running my fingers through the dry beans looking for treasures!
