Weight Loss Update

Weight loss is hard for me. Always has been. My body fights me. My mind fights me. I normally give up. I am proud to say I am holding on. I have lost 6 pounds, 2.5 inches in my waist, and 4 inches on the hips. Even though the scale isn't showing big numbers I am glad that the tape measure is more forgiving.

Little Bit and I have been pounding the dirt road every week day. I am tackling the food one meal at a time. I think my biggest success has been kicking the snack habit. I am proud of myself for that.

I know I have so much to work on. One thing I really struggle with is my perfectionism. I have not done everything correctly. Shoot, I haven't even done most of it correctly. I am however working on it. I am sticking with it. This is my fifth week on the Lean Green Mama Bootcamp and I am still hanging in there.

I haven't lost 15 pounds like some of the other gals but I also didn't do everything correctly. I am sad that I could be ten pounds lighter right now. I know if I had tried the all or nothing approach I would be SO done and have given up.

It took me a lifetime to gain this weight. It's not unrealistic that it will take some time to get it off. Here I am smiling at my 1 lb. loss.

I do feel better. I have more energy. I am not getting shaky between meals anymore. My physical cravings are all but gone. These are my wins! I have the basics down. Now it's time to re-direct that perfectionism to working on tweaking my new habits.

How is your exercise going? Are you working on eating better?

  1. Congrats! It's a fine line isn't it? I pray that I don't make the scale an "idol." I want to eat healthy for the right reasons....not the wrong reasons. Make sense?

I'm an all or nothing person...which really isn't good. The Lord is teaching me through this. :)

Hang in there. Don't be too hard on yourself. Know that you are beautiful!
