The Steak Disaster

Yesterday was a super fun day. Little Bit and I had loads of fun with cousins at the pool and then we visited my Grandma for a touch before heading home to make dinner. I had defrosted some Del Monico steaks for Hubs birthday yesterday but my parents took us out to dinner. I fired up the grill waited the appropriate amount of time and threw those bad boys on there. I don't stay outside because of Little Bit. He had been in the sun all day so I wanted him to relax in the AC. I went outside to flip the steaks. They were black. Charcoal black. Inedible black.

Hubs rolled in the door shortly thereafter and looked at my culinary disaster. He laughed as he normally does after one of my cooking attempts goes bad. I suggested some soy burgers (which I should have been choosing in the first place mind you). He ate them and said "they weren't to bad." Implying of course that they were still a little bad. I ate a pretty good low cal dinner and then we went out for dessert. Little Bit and I shared a kiddie cup of ice cream. Little Bit LOVES to watch traffic. He delighted in the passing vehicles. Hubs and I delighted in watching Little Bit. It was a blessed day.

This morning I was quite sure disaster was in the cards. I got up and glared at the scale. Thursday is my weigh in morning. I just knew in my heart I had gained back every single pound. I have been praying so hard. You know what? I lost .5 a pound. THANK YOU MIGHTY GOD! I am feeling so inspired right now. So very thankful and blessed. Today I am back on track.

God is good and I am his willing slave. I offer up this vessel as a living sacrifice to him. I will find joy in all that He lays before me. I will rejoice in the journey. Have a great day my friends!

  7. Congrats on the weight loss. I'm trying to lose some too. Sorry about the steak. My hubby is a much better cook than I so I leave the steak to him.

  9. Congrats on that .5 lbs...that's awesome!

I think my husband would have just laughed too. There's a reason he's in charge of any sort of grilling ;)

  11. Your post totally made me smile. I can SO relate. I've made meals that fed the garbage disposal and couldn't be called anything but "muck." Thankfully, my husband (like yours) is always understanding. I'm now following via GFC (from Planet Weidknecht's Sunday Blog Hop).
