Play

One of the tasks the Lean Green Mama has given me is a self-evaluation. What a great big HUGE wake up call. Seriously. There are so many things I have to work on. One thing that was pretty interesting is how do I play. Hrmm... Play? Well I like to blog and enter giveaways but one thing I used to love to do before Little Bit came along was going to the movies. Of course Little Bit is far to young to take to the movies.

Today while Hubs and Little Bit were taking a nap I thought about how fun it would be to go to a movie with Hubs. Mom was working so I knew that my go to babysitter was out. Dad is retired but normally I don't think about him filling in on babysitting duties because he had NEVER changed one of Little Bit's diapers. I really wanted to see a movie though.

Hubs woke up and I proposed the idea. He was on board so I asked Dad and he said without a pause "Yeah!" He came down and off we went. I had a great time watching the new X-Men movie and Dad had a great time playing with Little Bit. Now here I am feeling pretty dern good. What a mood lifter. I truly had a good time playing :D

It's okay to take time to play. I also learned it's okay to ask people for help. I am learning so many new lessons. How do you play?

  3. Finding my inner child and learning how to play was hard for me but I'm doing much better. One day a younger couple invited my husband and I to the fair. "Fair?" we both thought. We went but not as willingly as we should have and our eyes rolled when they wanted us to go on rides. We did not to be sticks in the mud. We had a great time and it was such a bonding experience and then we all went to the movie afterwards.
Playing went up a couple of notches in my book that day.

  4. found my way to you through Blessed Elements. I have to say that my favorite kind of play is anything to do with music. I lost my way with that for a while. But being preschool helper with my son's preschool has helped melt my adult mentality and bring me back to what brings me most joy. Music. Silly dancing with the kids is best :D

  5. I play as much as I can. I play alot with the daycare kids. I love to jump in my pool after the daycare kids go home. I have tickle fights and wrestling fights with hubby. I chase my teens around the house. I guess I do play quite a bit!

  8. Isn't it so hard to ask people for help? You're so lucky to have your family close. Use them! I mean, let them play with their Grandson! ;) I hear of some moms who "play" all the time and have to admit, sometimes I get a little jealous. So bad, I know! Good for you for taking the time to go. I'm actually going on a girl's weekend this weekend with a friend. We're going hiking. Thanks for stopping by the S&R weekend hop. We've been so busy lately, I haven't had time to catch up w/my favorite bloggers!
