Baby or Toddler Flash Cards

While Little Bit and I were at Books-A-Million yesterday I saw a box of Eric Carle flash cards. They cost around fifteen dollars. Why spend fifteen dollars when you can easily make flash cards for your Little Bit?

You will need:

note cards
old magazines
scissors
glue

Flip through your old magazines before you recycle them and cut out pictures of real life things. I found a ton of pictures including shoes, babies, dogs, cats, and houses. I cut out the pictures and glued them to the note cards. Now when Little Bit is in his highchair I show him the pictures and tell him the names of the objects. He especially loves the pictures of the babies. Enjoy recycling and re-purposing for a fun educational activity with your baby or toddler :D

  2. How clever! That is a great way to teach your child, they say the real pictures instead of animation is a lot more effective.

  3. Very nice :) I have tons of mags that can be recycled! I used to sing the alphabet in sound form and I think that really helped my five year old. He can pretty much read what we set in front of him, thanks for the tip for my 3 year old!
