A Day Alone

First I have to say how truly blessed I am. Almost every week I get at least one day off. My parents have a standing lunch date with Little Bit at Chik-Fil-A. This magical day is usually on Monday or Tuesday and sometimes BOTH Monday and Tuesday. I love the time alone. Time to watch a movie really loud. Time to play my favorite game Civilization V. Time to do laundry, dishes, or cleaning. Just time. Precious time.

Even though I love it I miss Little Bit. When he comes home I am so happy to see him. I feel refreshed and ready to have fun with Little Bit the rest of the week. Last week Hubs had been on travel and I was utterly worn out by Sunday afternoon. Dear Hubs took Little Bit and did the grocery shopping for the week. I watched some TV and took a nice bubble bath. When they got back my sanity had somehow magically returned.

I just got done with Numbers and this verse sticks out to me today, "The LORD bless you and keep you;the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26

Counting my blessings makes last weeks troughs seem far away. I hope you all have many blessings to count and have a very blessed week!

  19. First of all I really like your site and will be following it. I can really relate to what your saying about some alone time. With two kids ages 7 and 3 I rarely get that time. When I do get a couple of hours alone it's like gold!!

  21. Isn't amazing how just a *little* break really works wonders? Hubby's done the same where he takes the kiddos out to the grocery store (he's brave, haha!), and by the time they get back I'm feeling a bit more human and ready to handle the little things. =)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today (MomKaboodle). I'm your newest GFC follower!

  22. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

I know how you feel, the in-laws take our twin boys for a weekend every month or so, and although I miss them like crazy it's nice to have some time to just be me and I can have a conversation with hubby that isn't about poop, sick or anything else gross little boys do!

I'm sure your quilted pocket for the kindle will come along fine, it took me a while to get used to my sewing machine, so many times I've just wanted to give up on it! I found it useful to use fabric scraps to practise all the different things on.
