Hand Print Ornaments

One Little Mister has an awesome post today about some simple and cheap crafts you can create this Christmas season. I love, love, LOVE the idea she had about making hand print ornaments out of homemade play dough. The following section is quoted from her blog post:

"Handprint Ornaments

Using the play dough recipe provided, roll out a handful of dough and flatten with a rolling pin. Press a handprint into the dough and form the edges around the handprint as desired. Make a hole at the top of the ornament using a straw or pencil.

Set the ornament aside to dry on its own. Once completely dried, paint and decorate as desired, stringing ribbon or yarn through the hole at the top so that it can be hung on the Christmas tree.

In a large bowl, combine 4 cups flour, 1 cup salt and 1 and 1/2 cups water. In a separate bowl, mix 4 tablespoons oil with your choice of food coloring if desired.

Pour the oil (and food coloring) into the dry mixture and knead until well combined.
