Adoption Update

Tonight I finished my adoption training. It's been a long road to get here. A road filled with paper cuts and a bazillion trips to local authorities for every background check known to the United States Government.

What's finished? The dossier, the homestudy, and our parent training.

What's next? All of that to be looked over by our adoption agency for errors. If I did everything correctly we will fill out one more form and the whole lot will be sent to Ethiopia and we will be put on a waiting list for a baby.

Then I wait.

I pray.

And...

Hope that God's timing is sooner rather than later.

  1. Wishing you lots of luck that this all goes speedy. Our nephew adopted a little one from China. They were suppose to get a girl and ended up with a boy. They were happy just to get him so all is well that ends well. Sending prayers your way.

  5. I am trusting that God's timing will be just when you need it. Although I know this has been a long road I do appreciate your diligence and the procedures that are taken to check out the adoptive parents. They know the adoptive parents are well adjusted and ready for the new arrival.
    You'll do great!

  6. Such an exciting time yet I know what your going through with the waiting. I'll be praying for things to move quickly and for you to be united with the child that God has hand picked for you. I'm so happy for you guys! My daughter is from Ethiopia as well. We adopted her from just outside Addis Ababa.
