Weight Loss and Choices

I have been on a lifestyle revamp for about three months now. I am not calling it a diet because this is the new me. My new way of living. I have been walking 4-6 times per week for a little over three months now. I am happy to say that it is now a habit. I adore my walks which is a big change from the mindset I had three months ago.

Now I have several other things I need to makeover. One is consistently taking my vitamins. I feel much better when I take them. I just need to remember to take them. I have a horrible case of Momma brain and this has been much harder to implement than it should be.

The second thing I need to focus on is improving my eating. I am a foodie. I adore baking and eating out. Those two things make for a dangerous combination when attempting to become a healthier person.

One thing I have learned on this journey is that it is not all or nothing. I have lost nine pounds and many inches. I am so pleased with that. I am loosing even if it is ever so slow. I thank God every day for the ability to move and worship while I walk.

While I am in the process of readjusting my eating I am learning to make healthier choices. I was blessed enough to receive some coupons for the new McDonald's Premium Chicken Sandwiches. I know me. I know I will eat out. What I have to think about is a better choice. The Classic Grilled Chicken Sandwich has 350 calories, whole wheat buns, and reduced sodium. Definitely a better choice than a burger or chicken nuggets.

I went out grocery shopping and decided to try it out. Normally with these types of chicken sandwiches I am still pretty hungry so I opted for fries with it. I really wish I had gotten a side salad instead. The sandwich was so filling I ended up throwing away half of the medium fries!

Here I am steadily plugging along the path of a healthy body temple. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

Are you on a weight loss journey? How is it going for you? Have you tried the McDonald's Premium Chicken Sandwiches? What did you think of them?

*Disclosure of Material Connection: I received coupons for McDonald's Premium Chicken Sandwiches to facilitate my review for this post. I only recommend food that I enjoy. 2. I would like to lose several pounds...but living in a wheelchair with arms and legs that don't co-operate makes exercising difficult. Tia Chi sort of works for me....oh well, being pleasantly plump is nice...I guess! LOL

  3. so proud of you!!! Everything in moderation....some days are better than others ;)

We don't eat out much at all BUT I love to bake and make yummy dinners.

My hardest time is at night after the kids go to bed. I want to indulge....

    Thanks for inspiring me!

  4. What great chocies!! You are doing great!
I'm not on a diet, but our family is on a healthy plan. My husband has diabeties, so it's important that I cook foods that are alright for him. Since I can't do two seperate meals, I just aim to get everyone in the house on a healthy eating habit. If anything else I've learned since my husband hates to cut out foods he wants & loves (you know the bad stuf). I dont' make enough food for him to have huge helpings. If I did he'd over eat. Just by cooking a cup less than before I've cut down on waste, left overs as well as my husbands over eating. Now he eats what he wants, but at a portion that won't hurt his health. My kids pick up the habit and they have a great start to their life :)
    Keep up the good work!

  5. Congrats on your path to a new healthier you! I've recently just gotten back into going to the gym...which is HUGE for me. I was doing just my "diet" which, isn't really a diet because it's a lifestyle for us. I'm a huge fan of Organic stuff...fruits, veggies, milk etc. I like free-range chicken and won't even buy that other kind of chicken anymore. When I buy beef (which is rare..pardon the pun, lol) it's grass-fed beef only. I don't do fast food, unless you count Panera as fast food. It's been ages since I've eaten at McDonald's, but I do LOVE their sweet tea!!

  8. How wonderful that even your attitude has changed for the better and that you are able to enjoy your walks! My son just started pre-K and with only 1 car, it means I have to walk to pick him up most days...I'm working on changing my attitude about that ;)
