One of the biggest financial problems for our budget is our eating out habit. After a long day with Little Bit and Hubs two hour drive home from work sometimes neither of us have the energy left to cook dinner. Normally we pack up Little Bit and head out to a restaurant for dinner. When we get home we are forty dollars poorer and have added a little to our girth.
I was blessed enough to receive a copy of "Dinner Is Ready" for review. This fabulous book teaches you how to cook enough meals to eat from your freezer for a whole month! You devote one full day to cooking to pretty much avoid it for the rest of the month. Pretty cool huh?
I decided to try out two of the recipes to try out on Hubs. Hubs HATES leftovers. Seriously will not eat them. It drives me bonkers. I made meatballs and pork chops with gravy.
Now meatballs is a pretty safe choice. I buy them pre-cooked and frozen anyways so I know he will eat that without complaint. The real test was the pork chops. Last week I was tired and I pulled the pork chops out for dinner. I defrosted them, reheated them and served them over rice. Hubs actually approved, well as much as he ever does. Me, "Well?" Hubs, "Their okay." Translation, he liked them well enough to eat them again.
Deal Alert! You can get a free large pack of labels (250 labels, value $9), with any book and software combo purchase from the Dinner Is Ready website with promo code SSMOTS.
