Homemade Flour Tortillas

Yesterday in a rare moment of partial clarity I remembered to pull out a package of hamburger. I thought that tacos or fajitas would make a yummy dinner for the next day. I was confident I had all the ingredients tucked away in my overly full cabinets. Nope. Sure didn't. I had no taco shells or tortillas. Not even one.

What was a Momma to do? Well since Hubs was working from home today I turned to my good friend Google and looked up how to make homemade tortillas. It is surprisingly simple. Here is the recipe from Cooks.com but the pictures are mine :D

3 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup warm water

Combine all the flour, salt, vegetable oil, and water until it forms a dough.

Roll the dough into a big ball and take about an 1 to 2 inch pieces off. Pat the dough flat with your hands or take a rolling pin and roll into circles.

Put the dough on a flat pan on the stove and let the sides cook until there are little brown specks on both sides like you would see on other tortillas.

Easy huh? Hubs really liked them and Little Bit pretty much refused to eat anything else for dinner. I admit they are horrible for you but they sure were tasty!
