Resolutions for 2012: Be Healthier

Oh the timeless New Years resolution to be healthier. This is one that haunts me. I have crappy genes. Let's just put that out there. That combined with my love of food and aversion to exercise leaves me in the position of being rather a chunky monkey.

I was blessed enough to loose ten pounds earlier this year. Before Christmas I had not found my lost ten pounds. Now the battery in my scale is dead and I am awaiting it's delivery via brown truck to see what kind of damage I did over Christmas.

Naturally, one of my goals HAS to be to healthier. I want to start walking again. I really do miss it despite my loud protests. It is a wonderful time to pray and offer myself over to the Lord. Making myself do the physical bit is never as hard as the food portion.

I love eating. I love eating lots. I hate portion control. I hate measuring and counting everything I eat. The only successful eating plan I have done was a whole foods mostly vegetarian approach. I still buckled under the restriction of no salty snacks though. I love salt.

I have found a neat answer to helping me with my goal though. A nifty little product that it would be such a shame not to share with you. It's called a Yum Yum Dish. Basically, it is the perfect portion for a snack. No more worrying about counting out 26 crackers. Just fill your little Yum Yum Dish up, eat, and when it is empty your done snacking. Such a simple but powerful concept.

If you would like to control the portions of more than just your snacks Yum Yum Dishes also offers plates. Yum Yum Dishes wants to offer my wonderful readers a discount code to save a little green while you get lean. Enter MOMMA  in all caps and you will get 20% off your entire Yum Yum order from today until 1/20/12. Woot, woot!

  1. When I lost weight the only way I did it was portion control and measuring my food. I was surprised how much I was really eating when I measured it.

  2. What a cute little bowl! I like that at the very bottom it has the word "over"...it seems like that would help anyone realize it's time to stop eating.

  5. THat is a cute dish. I am a fan of smaller plates! I am back on my calorie counting diet. But i'm such a numbers person so it's ok. I feel like I have more control over what I am doing when I count calories and weigh out portions. The food scale really taught me a lot when I had lost weight before. Praying that God gives me the strength to see it through to the end this time.
