On my journey to being a healthier Momma one of the things I need to tackle is stress reduction. Something that stresses this Momma out to no end is clutter. I am constantly donating things to try and reduce the amount of stuff in our little house.
One thing that continually pours in that adds so much stress for me is the amount of junk mail I get delivered to my mailbox. These piles of paper come into my home and land on my counters, my craft desk, our dining room table, and even unto our bed. Paper EVERYWHERE. I resolve to have No Junk Mail in my home anymore. No more paper cluttering my life and stressing me out. One more thing I can mark off my list on my way to being a Lean Green Mama!
I am also resolving to start picking things up. I am terrible about putting something down and just leaving it there until it mounds up so high that I go nutsy and do a massive clean. I am putting the dishes in the sink as I use them. Putting away spice jars after using them. These are just little things that pile up and stress me out.
What piles up around your house? Are you bad about picking up after yourself like me? Any tips or tricks that can help this quasi slob reform?
Hi there.

Our desk is the paper collector and it gets bad...so bad that we sometimes can't see the desk under all of our papers until I finally snap and do a random cleaning.
ReplyDeleteDishes also pile up; way too fast! I really need to be better about cleaning them right after meals but after doing one cleaning I am so sick of doing dishes :)
Here from the Friday Hop. Now following.

Looks like your on the right path! I found that once menopause set in this was not hard to do anymore...something happened and I started liking to put things away and cleaning and weeding and doing laundry and...it never ends...lol

Junk mail & other clutter like that bugs me too. We bought a cheap upright sorter that sits near our front door. Each person has a section that their mail gets put into. Then there is a larger section in the back where all the junk mail goes. My sister insists she must go through all the junk mail (she never gets around to it though). If the junk mail sits for more then 3 days, I throw it out.
ReplyDeleteUmm, my husband is the paper monster. Has he been coming and littering up your house too?
ReplyDeleteI need to be more energetic in mopping.
I'm very good at keeping my stuff tidy, but it's me against three guys and I often lose.
ReplyDeleteI'm horrible about junk mail too, but it never even makes it out of the car. My passenger floorboard is just covered in it. One of these days I'm going to clean it up, I swear.

I am a new follower from the blog hop. I used to be much better about keep things neat and organized before kids and before I started going on-line. Part of my problem is I can't seem to throw away things like piles of newspaper puzzles that I'm sure I'll get to as the pile only gets bigger by the day. Come visit my daughter and I at our blog, Says Me Says Mom (http://saysmesaysmom.blogspot.com) where we talk about anything and everything.

Paper is one thing I try to keep on top of but it is almost a full time job!
ReplyDeleteuggg. . . the mail! the mail! Just make it go away!
ReplyDeleteI've got a 'hot spot' on the kitchen counter. It's a lovely little wicker basket, but it is overflowing with all kind of stuff. Stuff I have to deal with sometime. But not now.
